Snap Bifold Wallet, Natural Ombré | Prototype
Built as an homage to one of my favorite leathercrafters, the Snap Bifold Wallet is a modified pattern by Corter Leather that I’m offering in a variety of configurations. The wallet is constructed of natural, undyed, vegetable tanned tooling leather, hand-stitched with Ritza Tiger thread, premium nickel-on-brass snaps from Buckleguy. This configuration has 3 + 3 inward-facing card slots, and a single bill slot.
This is a prototype item, mainly because the leather used for this one has some natural insect bite scarring (shown in photo #2). I like to think that scars like these add character and authenticity to the piece, but it’s technically a flaw in the leather. I don’t like throwing away good material because of cosmetic flaws, so I’d rather just pass them on at a discount.
There is also a natural ombré fade where the leather was exposed to sunlight. Over time, the rest of the wallet will darken to match and the color will become uniform. This natural tooling leather will develop a stunning patina after a year or two, and will eventually become a deep, dark brown that oozes authenticity.
Neither of the above mentioned defects will impact the durability or usability of this item.
