Handmade Leather Goods
Built for Good, Made to Last
Handmade in Connecticut, USA
Welcome to Swift Leatherworks, home of vintage-inspired, handmade leather goods designed to last a lifetime.
Swift Leatherworks is a small, family-owned workshop located in the basement of our little home in the northwest corner of Connecticut, about an hour outside New York City. We use high quality materials sourced from ethical providers who love and cherish our planet the same way we do. The leather we use is a byproduct of the meat industry—tanned and processed by a handful of small, family-owned businesses located in small towns across the country, and around the world. We don’t import premade goods from overseas sweatshops, we don’t drop-ship, and we don’t cut corners just to make a quick buck.
We respect all of our neighbors, we love our community, and we hope you do too. If you’re looking for mass-produced, cheap, bargain basement products, you’re in the wrong place. If you’re into doing things the old way, the slow way, by hand, with purpose and intention, then we hope you stay a while and have a look around. If you have a question, drop us a line, and a real live human will answer you in a reasonable amount of time. And if you buy something, we’re pretty sure you’ll love owning it as much as we love making it.

Made from thick, luxurious Italian leather and meticulously hand-stitched in an eye-catching colorblock pattern, the Roman Holiday Tote stands as our finest premium tote bag. It begins with vegetable-tanned Pueblo leather sourced from the renowned Badalassi Carlo tannery in Italy, celebrated for its exceptional quality. Each leather panel is carefully hand-selected and expertly bookmatched to perfectly showcase the natural beauty and the imperfectly-perfect character unique to this luxurious leather.
The interior of the bag is thoughtfully unlined, revealing a finished flesh side that radiates a smooth yet slightly rustic look and feel, enhancing its artisanal appeal. Inside, the bag features one interior zippered pocket for secure storage, complemented by a solid brass Sam Browne button closure and reinforced solid brass rivets. The Sedgwick Long Wallet features an exterior of premium English Bridle leather sourced from the renowned Sedgwick tannery in the United Kingdom. Sedgwick English bridle is celebrated for its smooth, supple texture, exceptional scratch resistance, and wonderful earthy aroma. The color is rich and uniform, and will develop a gorgeous patina over time.
The interior of the Sedgwick Long Wallet features vegetable-tanned waxed African goat leather called “Mad Dog Goat,” which is famous for its rich pull-up effect. It’s called pull-up leather because when pressure is applied to the leather, a second lighter color “pulls up” from underneath the darker top color, creating beautiful blooms, crackles, and swirls of color that change depending on how you use the wallet. You can even “reset” pull-up leather by heating it with a hair dryer, returning the leather to its darker state.
The layout features 10 card slots, 2 slip pockets, and a secure zippered compartment with a nickel-coated-brass YKK zipper. Complemented by premium nickel-coated-solid-brass snaps from Buckleguy, every detail of this wallet exudes sophistication. Precision stitching around the front snaps highlights the dedication to artisanal quality, making the Sedgwick Long Wallet a statement of refined taste that’s built to last a lifetime.
