Pueblo Long Wallet - Green/Natural
The Pueblo Long Wallet is a luxurious experience from the moment you pick it up. The design is a geometric take on the classic long wallet. I added some slant to the pockets to give it a contemporary edge, which is a nice juxtaposition against the louche hand and springy texture of the leather.
This long wallet is made from Pueblo cowhide by Badalassi Carlo, a traditional Italian veg tan vachetta that undergoes a special milling process to create its signature rustic, matte surface. The unique texture gives projects a soft, hand-rubbed feel that develops into a rich patina over time. It also smells amazing, with notes of floral and sawdust that combines into an aroma that’s like smelling sunshine.
I offset the green Pueblo leather with Wickett and Craig (USA) vegetable tanned tooling leather. Over time, the Wickett and Craig will patina to a deep, dark brown, while the Pueblo will hold its color fast. With regular use, the Pueblo Long Wallet will develop rich, earthy tones with a decidedly autumnal color palette.
The Long Wallet features 8 full size card slots, 2 ‘half slots’ that are blocked by the snaps (sorry but I worried that repeated pressure would cause the snaps to tear the card slot after a few years of use). Where was I? Oh yes, it also features two large slip pockets, a zippered pouch with a YKK Excella zipper (their top of the line metal zipper), hand stitching, and solid brass Buckleguy snaps (also the top of the line).
On a personal note, I consider this wallet to be the most luxurious item I’ve ever made. The leather is stupid expensive, and I took time and great care to craft this wallet to perfection. I hope you love using it as much as I loved making it.
